Only 15 miles from the northern coastline of Spain the wild and beautiful landscape of Cantabria encompasses some 200 sq. miles of mountainous country known as Picos-de-Europa.
With its towering peaks, beautiful alpine meadows and deep gorges, this rugged landscape is ideally suited to the novice and expert outdoor enthusiast alike.
Ross spent six weeks here in 2001 teaching, walking and climbing and enjoyed many days exploring and discovering the beautiful area.
