Of all the outdoor adventures locations, Manorbier in Pembrokeshire is probably the most picturesque, and it is our main operational location for Pembrokeshire. This is probably the best location in Pembrokeshire for coasteering, and water based activities, making it ideal for your School Activity trip to Wales. Outdoor Adventures: Manorbier
Set on beautiful cliff tops overlooking the Irish Sea, it has really fantastic views across the sea to Devon. It’s location is right on the Pembrokeshire coastal path, however the hostel is reached by a private road from the nearby village. This is a perfect location for your school trip to Pembrokeshire and South Wales.
We work closely with the YHA to provide an extremely professional outdoor adventure experience. Outdoor activities at Manorbier are largely coastal and mountain based, however apart from gorge walking we can offer our full range of activities from here, please see look under the “Activities” tab on this web site for your options. We offer half day, full day and up to 5 day activity programmes that are designed individually to meet your needs. Locally there are also great local opportunities for self-lead evening activities such as a walk along the coastal path to visit Manorbier Castle, a well preserved medieval castle with an interesting story to be told about the dungeon! In nearby town of Pembroke you have the castle which was birth place of Henry Tudor, a nice day trip out which can include kayaking just below the castle walls.
The building has modern furnishings and is well maintained throughout. There is a teacher’s kitchen and a quiet room for pupils who just want to enjoy some time to themselves. There are 69 beds in 14 rooms, the building can be sectioned off and secured if there are two or more groups or families in at a time. Outside there are glamping pods that sleeps 2 each and Bell tents which sleep 3 so the site can accommodate 90 in total. All meals are catered for in the central kitchen by professional cooks. All dietary needs can be catered for. There is a communal games room if everyone wants to socialise and plenty of outside space for children to run off any excess energy!

All activities are led by National Governing Body qualified instructors. Off-site activities we offer are: Coasteering, Body boarding, Sit on kayaking, Climbing and abseiling, Coastal treks, Mountaineering, Beach craft and Raft building. On site there is: Bush Craft, and Archery, Orienteering and Team initiative Games. At the bottom of the cliffs which are reached by steel staircase is a lovely beach which is great for Rock Pooling, Beach Games, and Coasteering. All activities are the same cost so are interchangeable with other activities from our list.
